About Us
Early Days:
Sarah and Emily grew up in a small town in America, where they spent most of their childhood playing outside, exploring the forests and fields, and helping their parents in the garden. They developed a deep love and appreciation for nature, and they knew from an early age that they wanted to pursue careers that would allow them to work with plants and help others discover the joys of gardening.
After college, Sarah and Emily both worked for several years in the horticulture industry, gaining valuable experience and building relationships with growers, nurseries, and other professionals. However, they soon realized that they wanted to start their own business and create a new kind of seed store that would provide not only high-quality seeds but also expert advice, personalized service, and a sense of community.
Rise of The Store:
In 2020, Sarah and Emily founded McKenna Seeds, an online store that offers a wide variety of seeds, from vegetables and herbs to flowers and fruits, all carefully selected for their quality, diversity, and adaptability. They also offer a wealth of gardening tips, how-to guides, and other resources to help customers grow and maintain healthy, thriving gardens, whether they are experienced gardeners or just starting out.
As McKenna Seeds began to grow, Sarah and Emily realized that they could also use their business as a platform for promoting environmental and social causes that were important to them. They started partnering with local organizations and charities that supported sustainable agriculture, food justice, and community gardening projects, and they began donating a portion of their profits to these causes.
Diversifying The Store:
Through their partnerships and outreach, Sarah and Emily also discovered that many people were interested in gardening but lacked the resources, knowledge, or confidence to get started. They decided to launch a series of workshops and events, both online and in-person, to help educate and inspire novice gardeners and to build a community of like-minded individuals who shared their passion for plants and sustainability.
The workshops covered a range of topics, from seed saving and soil health to pest management and companion planting. They invited experts from various fields, such as permaculture, beekeeping, and herbalism, to share their expertise and insights with the participants. They also organized seed swaps, potlucks, and other social events to create a sense of camaraderie and connection among the attendees.
As word spread about McKenna Seeds and their workshops, more and more people started visiting their website, sharing their experiences on social media, and recommending the store to their friends and family. Sarah and Emily were thrilled to see their vision come to life and to know that they were making a positive impact on the world.
Here And Now:
Today, McKenna Seeds is a thriving business with a loyal customer base and a growing network of partners and collaborators. Sarah and Emily continue to innovate and expand their offerings, always with an eye towards sustainability, diversity, and accessibility. They are proud to be part of a global movement of growers, activists, and change makers who are working to create a more just, equitable, and beautiful world.
At McKenna Seeds, we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible products and service, and to promoting sustainable, organic, and eco-friendly practices that protect our planet and enhance our health and well-being.
